basicly,I need a new amp.
my budgets going to be about 300 squid
firstly I play metal, and I really cant live without it handling a scooped mid monster gain sound, but my experince of most hi gain amps is that theyhave crap cleans and I play a lil
blues so ill need somthing basicly in between modern and vintage.
suggestions?
thanks

Ashdown fallen angel 40 watt and maybe an overdrive to give it a slight boost (If you need it)

the ashdown looks very cool(how loud is it roughly?)
the vox not enough gain
and marshall full stack lol id love one of those but I live in a flat and I have people objecting to the loudness of my laney hcm30 so thats out
thanks

^ Those amps won't have enough gain without a lot of boosting, and please don't get a marshall stack for that price lol. You could look at a used marshall dsl 401, but again you'll probably need a overdrive pedal to really get that modern sound.

at 40 watts tube it should be pretty loud. loud enough for any decent sized venue, obviously you won't be able to crank it in your apartment though

Ashdown fallen angel 40 watt can go loud as hell if you want it to. When i tried it it was at a relatively low volume and still sounded pretty good, but i'm sure it would sound really nice when louder. Surprisingly good bluesy sounds for an amp marketed as a modern rock amp. Theres someone on UG with one and he has some clips, Steven Seagull i think his name is

EDIT: ^LOL the Ashdown would eat a spider

I'll swear by my Vox AD30VT right now. Very versatile, except not much for a really clean sound.

Actually the Line 6 flextone iii amps are pretty good, but if you only need a couple of different sounds i'd stick to the ones already suggested.
