The Yearbook

I’ve been staring at the yearbook,
And I can’t believe how long it’s been,
Since I’ve seen that shaky grin,
It’s been ages since you gave that look.

There’s your quote on the next page,
“Lets run away and stay away.”
And you live this day-by-day?
Or do you live in a Kevlar cage?

Sign your name in blue or black,
I dream there was some way back,
To the time when you words,
Were the only things I heard,
And your hands,
Were my only demands,
Without responsibility,
The pressure it is killing me.

I remember that day in line
When you turned and shook a smile
That was seen for over a mile
I will see it again when the stars align.

So this must be the greatest time?
Passes and failures
Asses and actors,
I guess it was the greatest crime.

Sign your name in blue or black,
I dream there was some way back,
To the time when you words,
Were the only things I heard,
And your hands,
Were my only demands,
Without responsibility,
The pressure it is killing me.

Your hands were my only hold
On that reality we called home
Come on and lets go roam
Through those stories that you told.

The perfect pleasure is to reminisce
About those good ol days
In a starlight daze
Yearbooks are either hit or miss.

Sign your name in blue or black,
I dream there was some way back,
To the time when you words,
Were the only things I heard,
And your hands,
Were my only demands,
Without responsibility,
The pressure it is killing me.

I like this alot. I cant think of anything that I would change in it. I was looking through my old middle school year book, and I was thinking practically the same thing.
