hold the center button and the play button.

Instruction manuel FTW!
And if ever You come near, I will hold up high a mirror.
Lord, I could never show you anything as beautiful as You.

Take out the battery. I don't know if you can do that to an iPod, but I do it with my iRiver. I don't think it's very good for the device, though.
It's difficult to win unless you're bored.

Ok, this happens to me alot. Just push the hold tab over, wait a few seconds, un-hold it, and voila, it'll turn off. If it doesn't, please refer to the post with the picture of the hammer.

I do pretty much the same thing but I found that if you're at the main menu, going to music, turning hold on and off, and going back to the main menu works well

Or reset the ipod.

Or plug it into your computer and unplug it again.

Or let it sit there. I believe they turn off after several minutes of not being used.

i cant turn of my ipod :S, nothing happens when i hold the play button!
help me please!!

Put your iPod on hold, and directly after you push it back into 'standard mode' (out of hold), hold the middle and upper (The circle, and the 'menu') buttons down. This must be done quickly.
