Before anyone says anything, yes, I know, a spider III. I've played them before and personally love the range of sounds you can get out of them and all of the different presets. At this point I'd rather have an amp that can do all sounds decently than have an amp that can do only a few perfectly.

I'm stuck between the 2 wattages because my band will be performing this summer at a few parties and the at the county fair (not as a main attraction thing, just in the beer tent, so no PA) and our other guitarists uncle owns a small club and has 4 or 5 bands including us that are going to start performing on a rotating basis. Will the 120 be enough for these events or will i need the 150? If I get the 150 will the tone be any better/worse than on the 120 at any given volumes? Besides the wattage/speakers the amps are identicle.

i say go for the 150 if you can afford it, i mean, why not get more wattage?

I take the strings off before I smash my guitars. I usually go through about 2 a week. It's mad fun.

Yeah the 150W, the world needs another 30W's of Spider goodness [/sarcasm]

Seriously though with SS amps more headroom is always good cause they crap out (clip) when fully cranked so yeah the 150W.

You need to be careful. Make sure before you buy it, you ask if you can crank it in the shop. Seriously, they can sound alright for bedroom level practising but I've found they crap out at louder volumes (the backing guitarist in my band has one).

If you could, more expensive Line 6s sound better.

But, above is right. you HAVE to crank it so that you know what you're getting.
