What do you think is the most epic song ever? Don't know if this is in the right forum, but seems to fit.

I vote Alexander the Great by Iron Maiden ftw.

It's the right forum if you're talking about epic classic rock song.

what exactly do you mean by epic?

EDIT: Ok...hmm i think i would say Stairway or Master of Puppets ( If that counts )

EDIT2: For Those About To Rock was pretty damn epic when i first heard it.

dogs by pink floyd is pretty epic......
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.

Achilles Last Stand. Also 2112 is mindblowingly dynamic and incredibly epic...
Got Death Magnetic a day early!

hmm, I dunno how I'd define epic, like when you hear it you're like "this is ****in awesome." It's like seeing an epic movie, ya know? Some movies are good, but others are just "epic", such as say 300 or even Star Wars. Hotel California would probably be a good example.

The first time I hear lT's A LONG WAY TO THE TOP (If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll) by AC/DC, I was laying on my bed, and it felt epic.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

I'd have to say epic by faith no more. For what I'd hope are at least semi-obvious reasons.
On a scale of one to awesome...
I'm the sh!t.

Hurricane-Bob Dylan

I am reading a book called Lazarus And The Hurricane. It's the true story of the Hurricane's release. Great story, and I'm going to read his biography The 16th Round after I'm finished with this book.

As for epic classic rock..... Side 2 of Abbey Road. Or all of Sgt Peppers.

Okay, we're in the CR forum, so try to keep it CR. If this is to be in general, and not only CR songs, then you need to move it to bands and artists. A ton of people are going to start listing a bunch of bands that are not CR, and are probably Death Metal.

Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who. The final minute of that song is the most epic minute in the history of rock.
"Rock music is important to people because... it allows you...not to run away
from the problems that are there, but to face up to them, but at
the same time to sort of dance all over them.
That's what rock 'n' roll's about."
--Pete Townshend

When I think 'epic', I think of "takes you on a journey." So for that, I'd say a Yes song, like Gates Of Delirium or Ritual or Close To The Edge or something like that.
