My Blues Junior just started crackling loudly whilst I was playing earlier. The crackling pretty much drowned out the guitar. Now when I turn it on, I get this crackling.

Its only about 2 months old.

Any ideas?

Ill add soundclips asap.

tubes, fuses, or the speaker. or maybe a cable.

Yeah, does it make the same noise with other guitars/cables?

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

Make sure you give it ample time to warm up before you start playing. Like 2 minutes or so.

it's not that big a deal, it only takes 30 seconds. mine doesn't even have a standby switch.

dang, do you really wait 2 minutes to start playing? usually tubes warm up in less than 30 seconds

Sound clip as promised. I turn on the toggle switch, with master volume and volume at 0. Then I turn up master volume.

Any ideas what it could possibly be?

It first happened when I was playing using my RC-2. I had Master Volume ~ 4, and Volume about the same. The volume on the RC-2 was about 1/3 of max.

i'm thinking cables. but that's just me. that or speakers. but i don't think bad tubes would cause that.

Sounds like p-p-p-popcorn! Seriously though, I think it would be the cable, I've had cables like that. It could be a loose input, either the guitar or amp, but I'm not too sure about that, and I wouldn't know how to fix it.

I have a few cables like that too ^. I opened up the endof the cable nd the solder ripped off so I just re-soldered of one of them and never got around to the other one. It happens with the cable when just a little bit of the wire touchs.

There was no cable in the input. And it makes the same noise with a cable in.

Yeah, I noticed that I was sometimes getting crackling when I played. I noticed that it only happened when I was waiting like 20-30 seconds but didn't happen when I gave it a couple of minutes.
