Ok, I was sitting in school today and had to pee really bad, this lead me to think about that saying, "I have to pee so bad my teeth are floating." Where did that even come from?? So, what are some weird expressions or sayings that you wonder about?

well i know the saying " the rule of thumb" comes from back in the early 1900s when it was legal to beat your wife with a stick that was no thicker than your thumb

Well, having never heard the saying before. The eaming seems to simply be that, you need to pee so bad ebcause you are completely filled with piss..so your mouth is filled with piss.

Sounds like a made up saying to me tohugh

It's the other way around you couldn't beat your wife with something thinner then your thumb.

The phrase 'It's raining cats and dogs' has a more literal origin than I'dve guessed.
