So,i've been playin guitar for about a year, and i've been teaching myself, through various books, videos and websites(this one especially!) Its goin' slow but it's goin. My question is:where does a key end? like,i always see things saying the notes in the key of A or G or something, but, where does that end? Does that mean the notes in a scale in that key or what? the same thing about positions? where do they end? if someone could help me with this i'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

the notes in the key of A major are: A, B, C#, D, E, F#, G#

so i guess it ends at g#??

I'm not a theory buff, but I'd have said it just carries on an octave higher without ending, but if it was to "end" somewhere, it'd be at A again.

It's can be a contraction and genitive case.
