So I'm thinking about putting EMG's in my schecter s-1,but I'm not sure if I should be cheap and get the passive or go all out and get the active pickups.Do the active pickups really have that much of a better crunch?
Next issue...my friend plays rhythm and he wants to get some pickups better suited to the indie kind of sound.Any reccomendations? Thanks for the help.

Uhh...there isn't a BETTER pick ups. It's what you want.

Active pick ups have hotter (higher outputs), thus why metal heads love using EMG's for their metal songs for their metal needs.

Passive pick ups can get quite hot themselves...just not AS hot. I prefer passive pick ups, mostly because when I had EMG's in my guitar--they weren't as clear as the ones I have now.
