hey all, i just recently purchased a BOSS RC-20XL so i could use it to record harmonies and really improve my improvisation. anyway after fiddling with it for hours i can't seem to get it to work right. Did i mention i was a metalhead? well i am. i tried it with both my 6505 212 combo, and my spider 2 15 watt. and when i record a heavy riff for improvisation, then i try to improvise both guitars clash and i cant hear the riff, it seems to be cancelled out by the lead im playing. i can use it on clean and it works just like it's supposed to. but when i try with metal distortion it just doesnt seem to work. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, run it through your effects loop on your 6505, cause right now your gain is distorting the signal of your loop station, once its going through your effects loop it'll be fine.

yeah, you are using the distortion against itself, doesnt work. Either use a pedal for you distortion or put it in your effects loop like tensorspencer said
