can you get a say crate cab and put a marshall head on it?
as long as the ohms match
what are the ohms?
I'm not exactly sure how it works, but if the speakers in the cabinet are 8 ohm speakers, the head has to be set to output to 8 ohm speakers.
Yeah, pretty much. The impedance rating is measured in ohms, and if that doesn't match, your head can blow up. Well, maybe not actually blow up, but get broken.
you would need to check if the ohm ratings match up. also, putting a good tube head on top of a cheap cab is a bad idea. the build quality of the cabintet and the speakers makes a significant difference in your tone so dont cheap out on a cab.
