Is the boss BD-2 an overdrive pedal or distortion, because i am looking for a distortion pedal, but i have a soild state amp so i dont need an overdrive pedal, but i am looking for a mild distortion pedal for classic rock and that type of stuff

another thing, what will an overdrive pedal do to a soild state amp since there are no tubes to overdrive??

From MusicFiend:

The Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal gives you the classic, bluesy sound of an overdriven vintage tube amp in a compact pedal. The BD-2 gives you all the textures you need to scream, sing, or cry. Can also be used for warm distortion with a higher level of responsiveness than most distortion boxes. Controls for Gain, Tone, and overall Level. Great for blues and rock. Expect subtle overdrive to ripping amp tones from your Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal.

Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal Features:

* Sound of an overdriven vintage tube amp
* Controls for Gain, Tone, and Level

Not sure how it'll sound with an SS amp .... distorted I suppose?

its cool on both...
u have to use it different ways on tube/ss amps.
on tube, Level 10, gain 0
on SS, Level like 4-5, gain u can adjust.
gain distorts the signal. but on tube, u don't want distortion from the pedal.
u want tube distortion.
