hey everyone
thanks for the help so far
u guys are right, the nirvana unplugged def helped progressin my playing
my favorite songs right now to pllay are def "jesus doesnt want for a sunbeam" and ben harper "burn one down"
but now im not sure what else to play
i started practicing the individual fingering and have slowly been gaining dexterity
so im starting to major scales and such now
but i dunno what to do next?
im trying barre chords.. i have a question
my like hand hurts between index and thumb when i hold em (hand gets tired faast)
is that normal in the beginning?
is that liek a callus.. i just needa tough it out in the beginning and itll get better?
or perhaps might i be wrong in my position..?

also
what other songs do u guys suggest playing
thanks so mucha gain for everything
i really appreciate ur guys help
im playing better than liek anyone whos been playing for like 4 weeks
and its all thanks to u guys (+ nuuuuuuuuumerous hours of practice)

hold your hand so that your thumb is parallel to the neck (the tip should be pointing towards your headstock)....i had that same pain when i started to do barre chords. Turns out i was using bad technique and i ended up with a cyst on my tendon which still hasn't gone away. So yeah, make sure your thumb is pointing towards your headstock, it's a lot easier on your wrist

Check out the barre chord vids and the other vids from this guy. It really helped me when I was starting out

And remember never to do just one thing, or be too systematic about it, try everything possible and have as much fun as you can

wow that video did help
thanks so much

so now i have it angled, but all the notes are clear with both 6th (i think its called) major and minor
ex: 355433 and 355333
like
my hand is
but it seems like most people hands are straight?
can/should it be angled?
also
my like forearm burns
like if u have ur palm face up, it would be the lateral side (outside part), like with ur left palm facing in, it would be the part that is up
is that okay?
i feel like it could be because my hand is not used to it
but i dunno if its just that i am doing something wrong

thanks again so much
i feel like im so close to getting barre chords

Are you talking about the forearm on your fretting hand?

If so, are you keeping your fingers and hand relaxed and your elbow slightly away from the side of your body?

yea my forearm on fretting (im right handed, so, left) hand

my fingers arent really relaxed because i feel its pretty hard to barre the strings unless i apply enough pressure to barre them

You don't need to post so often in a row.

When you play the minor chord, check to see if you're muting the third string with any of your other fingers.
