I was looking at amps a couple days ago and saw a lot that had what looked like ethernet ports. Does this mean I could hook it up to my computer with an ethernet cable and record whatever is playing through the amp?

haha, no. Thats for a footswitch. Was it a Line6? I know that most of them use CAT5 ports for their footswitches.

it depends on what pedal it is, but i've seen digitech's that you can plug into your computer and dowload presets for songs. you'll just have to ask a sales guy to be completely certain.

It was probably a CAT5 port which is pretty much the same thing as ethernet just used for LAN. I saw a bunch of amps that had it. Fenders, Marshalls, etc. I have a digitech pedal... I wish I had a mic but their sound quality isn't that good anyways.
