He's inspired basically all of the shredders, as he was one of the first. Definately the guys from Dragonforce and such.

Is this what school reports are nowadays ?
What is the title ? Who has EVH influenced ?
strange.

Randy Rhoads. Even though they pretty much rose up in the metal scene at the same time, they competed and sort of rubbed off on eachother.

But they were more influenced by Pacman than Van Halen...

Steve Vai, Dimebag Darrel, Joe Satriani, Buckethead. Try them.

hey saxaxe, i'm not too sure about Satch.

i'm pretty certain he was well established as a player and a teacher, about the time Eddie was becoming known.

Eddie might have had some minor influence on Joe, so it would be worth the research, but might be a dead-end.

do you know anything specific? or are you just sayin', because there are similarities in their style?

Reporting on EVH for a class in school isn't odd.

Doing a report on Rammstein for Spanish class is odd....i'd know, cuz i did that last year....and i got a 98% on it.

He popularized two-hand tapping, so you could probably get away with saying that any modern guitarist that uses techniques like that was influenced by 'im.
