heya

I'm in a band and we play edgy hard rock, and I need a new amp to keep up with a drummer. It must be loud, gig-worthy, have nice sparkly cleans and have hard, crunchy, high gain distortion. I have a ds-1 if it may help a specific amp posted. Tube or SS (preferably tube) . Please suggest some, i will be most welcome.

Ps i dnt want 2 spend 2 much.

thanks a lot

pps plz dnt suggest crate tubes or traynors as i live in england and they dnt stock them here

Nice try, but A price range would help, ("2 much" means different things to different people) and maybe give some examples of some bands that have the tone your looking for

If you are poor get a Line 6 Spider 3. They are versatile, loud, and cheep.
Keep in mind though, you'll want to upgrade after because the digital tone of this amp becomes a burden after a while.

tryed out a vc 30 actually, great for classic rock and the cleans seemed nice. it never occured to me, the orange, though, but i will definately consider, as it has a great rep.
#13
hey would the orange be loud enough for most gigs? im waiting for the head demo to load and can't wait to hear it.

It's loud enough to blow your own skull off, so it'll handle gigs no problem

The amp has MORE than enough for gigs, imo--if not, just mic it!

lol wicked, can it handle the heavier stuff? becuase i hear it has great crunch, although a vox ac30 beats it for cleans

Well it'll handle heavier stuff better than the AC30, and I actually really like the natural channel (assuming you have a decent guitar with decent pickups).

It has more of a distinct clean....more so, it's different than other clean amps, which is always nice to have.

I never cranked it up and used all of the gain, but I bet it could if you had the right pick ups and pedals.

sounds cool, i like the sound of the natural channel. i like a bit of a bluesy crunch to the clean tone. i am to buy either a fender fat strat or a schecter c-1 to go probably with this amp.

+98091238 on the rocker. Oranges crunch = Instant orgasm.

VOX Valvetronix AD50VT

End of thread.

Wow..

Anyway, yeah threadstarter, get some holygrail or some chorus on that natural channel and it'll sound like bliss, mang!

Also, I hear single coiled guitars work best on oranges, but whatever floats your boat!

The valvetronix is nowhere near as good as either the Orange Rocker 30, the Vox AC30, or the Laney VC30.

Its the best in its price range IMO besides the Roland Cube, and he said he wanted something inexpensive

That clip of the Orange really doesn't do it justice, it's nowhere near cranked. But ya a Rockerverb would be nice for you or if you could get some extra cash together then maybe an Orange AD30TC combo....Also the Vox AC30 is a great amp in your price range
