I was wondering what i should get now that im more into playing.I have a Fender STARcaster right now haha. I really only use my amp to practice since we have a PA in my band. I have a Roland Micro-Cube as an amp. But i play a lot of classic rock and also some metal/grindcore type stuff. I love metal and hardcore music but ill turn on a little classic rock every once in a while too. Anyone have any suggestions on what is a good guitar that fits both styles of music pretty well..doesnt have to be perfect. It would also help if u coud name some cheaper guitars cuz im on a budget lol. Like in the 300-500 dollar range. Thx ahead for ne replies.

i'd recomend a jackson, but the price is an issue, check out a high end epishone les paul, that sould do the trick

i misworded it lol. I uses my amp still but i meant i dont really crank it up youno lol. I just play through it for the effects and go through the output to a PA my friend has. IDK what im talking about really lol i just connect the right cords n it works.

And about the epi LP or SG. Do they play about the same and what are the differences in sound/"playability"? and all

I'm fairly sold on Ibanez guitars for versatility.

Jacksons are more raw power/metal guitars. ( and pricey for a GOOD one.. i bought my daughter one, and it was NOT cheap! )

My current guitar is one that i bought to learn my chops on, it is a basic model, and NOT meant to carry you much past cutting your teeth.

I am currently looking at an RG series Ibanez as my next step up.

Try a few Ibanez guitars just for kicks.

If you hate them you can come back to the board and flame me for being a fool.

I'm cool with that :P

Ok it might be a diff model... but it's very close

I can't find that color on the webbie... but for real, i picked up and played this guitar.. and it's BURGANDY.

I've bought a lot from the store it's at, so they are willing to work with me on it :P

I love the sound of an LP, but they are heavy...that is the one thing i never did like.

Truthfully most gibsons tend to be unweildy and heavy to me for some reason ( and i am a Bassist by nature.. and the only Bass i say this about other than ANY Gibson, is a Musicman Stingray :P )
