I'm going through Wiki and I'm waht crappy styles I can find, and what they orginated from and bands and stuff.

Here we go, feel free to add.

grindcore
Power violence
Noisegrind: Grindcore with an emphasis on noise and/or speed rather than musicianship. Other features include feedback, out of tune or improvised instruments, and poor production. Most noisegrind bands consist of only a few members, normally a vocalist, drummer (or a drum machine), and guitarist. Examples of noisegrind bands include: Anal **** and Gore Beyond Necropsy.
Pornogrind: Grindcore characterized by sexual themes, vocals that range from pitchshifted growls to absurdly high-pitched screams, and an emphasis on groove. Pornogrind bands include: GUT, early **** and Ball Torture, and Gronibard.
Cybergrind: Cybergrind is a form of grindcore heavily influenced by extreme electronic music that, aside from the instruments used in ordinary grindcore, uses computer generated sounds, synthetic instruments, and/or drum machines.

I don't know about you guys, but I've never heard of these until this one girl I know said she's "grindcore" but I thought she was metal... and now that she has the word 'core' in her genre of style, I'm not turned on.

A friend of mine made up a new Genré and style called Hippo.
It is a combination of Hippy music of the 60's and Emo (before the emo word came about).
I am the only Hippo Artist at the moment but it is set to explode.]
Oh yes and it is all Acoustic, the style is mainly a combination of the two genrés listed above (but not that stupid EMO kid stylish thing more of a pre the emo word Emo style)

Folk Metal/ classically influenced metal is the best metal there is. The heavier the better.
I haven't really looked into the folk side of the genre but it sounds pretty cool so far

EDIT: That dude you posted isn't heavy enough for me =(

melodic death metal.. hahaha. And I didn't know what grindcore was until last year.

wow you never heard of melodic death metal?looking at your avatar, i assume that ur a thrash metal fan so i really think you should check some of it out....it has many elements from thrash, speed, and of course death so if you dont like the the roar/growl type of singing i suggest you just ignore this, if not, here r some bands

in flames,all that remains,arch enemy,and dark tranquillity

oh, and a genre of music i havent heard of until a couple of weeks ago would be sludge... i found out about it on the metal archives and it SUCKS, its like a slow version of grindcore...

I had never heard of synth metal but apparently it's a fusion of synth pop and heavy metal according to wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synth_metal

and I really don't like the simplicity of saying rock, punk, metal etc., because there's some metal I like, like thrash, and some I don't, like death.

How can you not know what grindcore is?
I didn't know: Norae Undong (Korean rock music with socially aware lyrics), Organum (Middle Ages polyphonic music), Rímur (Icelandic heroic epic songs), etc.

maybe by funkadelic he meant the type of music that was influenced by Parliament-Funkadelic, which would be P-Funk

Queercore is a cultural and social movement that began in the mid 1980's as an offshoot of punk. It is distinguished by a discontent with society in general and a complete disavowal of the mainstream gay and lesbian community and what those involved believe to be its oppressive agenda[citation needed]. Queercore expresses itself in DIY style through zines, music, writing, art and film.

example: shitting glitter(ya...real band...)

any genre that ends with core is simply un-understandable metal/punk
