i learn songs by reading tabs off the net, but by doing this im spending too much time on the comp. is there another way to improve your skills/learn new songs without having to resort to the computer. and i dont have a printer.

Throw in a CD and jam. A lot. Push yourself when you do it, it will train your ear and your fingers. Try implimenting tapping and such into ordinary songs, basically just jamming with a CD or playlist is what has improved my playing ability the most.

Either train by ear, as the others suggested, or print the tabs out.

Also, when you're off pc, its a great tive to improve your improv skills.

Yeah I'd really try and avoid tabs as far as possible and transcribe stuff by ear.
