ok wel, its my birthday coming up, and i really wana buy a wah wah pedal. Now im undecided between the crybaby, vox wah wah, and vox v847. I went to my guitar shop to try some out and they only stock the crybaby, i quite liked it although the sound seemed a bit sharp. At the moment i think im swaying towards the vox v847 mainly cause its got really top notch reviews.

Anyway please voice you opinions and tell mev what you think
BTW i have an SG, and play 70s rocks based stuff if that helps

I have a Crybaby, its cheper then the v847, but its still a great pedal. Depends, if its your birthday then your probably not buying, so ask your parents to order it or something.
I am going to solidly with the vox... simply because its better.

Your sig is wrong... it should say
Fender Frontman 15G - Soon to be a VOX AD30VT. Thats all.

its all preference, the crybaby seems to handle distortion a bit better. the vox has a better sweep IMO, with a more vintage tone.

the route i went? i bought the cheapest crybaby and then had keeley make it true bypass and various other mods. i actually have special edition with more mods than he performs now, plus its hand signed

I have the V847. It's a great wah for classic rock/blues type stuff, and seeing as that's what you like, I'd recommend it. I think it's discontinued now, though, because the V847a is coming out next month. The only difference between the V847 and the V847a is that the a version has true bypass and a 9v switch. As an owner of the old version, I'd say it's worth waiting for.

Dunlop Original Crybaby does the job for me just fine but i heard the Ibanez Weeping Demon is pretty awesome...but I've never tried it so i honestly can't say. If you have your heart set on either a VOX or a Dunlop, I'd go Dunlop. But its all about preference my man.

DO NOT GET A DUNLOP! especially a dimebag wah. That does better with HEAVY distortion. the only people who buy dunlops are the people who havent tried anything else. I would suggest 2 things. A: Wait for the new vox B: Buy an ibanez weeping demon-it may not be as good as the vox, but is more versatile. Oh, and the vox's are true bypass (not sure about WD7)

EDIT: If you do get a crybaby i hope it bursts into flames when you take it out of the box

Personally, I like the V847 much better than the Crybaby Original, which I tested side-by-side. The Vox has a wider sweep, which to me makes it more versatile, and it had a better tone. The quality of the tone is of course debatable, but the Vox seems better for classic rock, which you mentioned you play. I'd highly recommend the V847.

Purely stock the Vox V847 is better than Original Crybaby, the sweep is wider and the tone was a bit better. Modified however I'd take my Crybaby over a Vox.

my crybaby is incredible. its an excellent pedal and if you decide not to go with a standard wah, dunlop makes many wah variations.

I ordered a Vox 847 without hearing it off the internet and was dissapointed. Sold it on ebay shortly after and got a Crybaby ZW. I'm English as well so it wasn't as cheap over here. I've never played on a non sig crybaby though,

That was ages ago now and i'm still happy. Would love the Slash one as well, seen some clips of that and it sounds ace.

the zakk wylde crybaby was brilliant in my opinion. the only other better wah was the morley bad horsie. get out and try those, both great pedals but nothing beats the morley. anyway, wah has more to do with individual expression so i wouldnt take advice from anyone when buying a wah pedal.

hmmm im still stuck, really stuck. My dad mate plays guitar in a local band and he recomends the ibanez. But can the vox cope with distortion. And this pedal would be mainly used during solos, and for some rhythm
