What are the best guitars priced under $1,000 in your opinion?
Right now I'm playing a Schecter Gryphon and it's definitely a great deal for the price. Its the current forum GOTM so I won't go into detail on why. Overall just an excellent affordable guitar.

Anything Carvin for metal.

A non custom V series comes at around $900 with a complete choice on bridge type (and excellent ones at that) and a coil splitter.

What about the 400 series? They are around 1300, with active pickups.. I'm curious if they can do classic rock, humbucker style, tbh.

Well this is kind of pointless since many guitar are used for many styles, but:

Lo gain: MIA Strat
Mid Gain: Schecter C-1 Classic
Hi Gain: RG 1570

IMO of course.

Yea Highway ones are sweet. i have one and i think it feels and sounds better than amercan standards.
C1s are also awesome.

I'm not really in the market for a new guitar just yet but I thought I'd create this thread to give myself and other people an idea of what are the best affordable guitars under $1000.

To answer your question I play classic rock, hard rock, metal, punk, blues, and funk mostly. I prefer humbuckers but do have love for single coils for blues and funk play, I also prefer a thinner neck.
If I were to look for a new guitar under $1000 today I'd look at the ESP LTD EC-1000vb with EMGs, PRS SE singlecut, the Schecter C-1 Hellraiser, and an American HSS Strat.
