Proud owner of a not-so-prideful RG7321. It actually feels weak to play 6-strings now...

i think for drop D the 7th string sounds even better... depending on what you're doing of course....

They're just standard ibanez ones in that photo, same as the RG7321, but dont get me wrong they're pretty fantastic for stock pickups, i just prefer the D-sonic in the bridge really. Gotta wait for my next paycheck so i can get the Air norton 7 lol

Also i found for the drop D stuff, work around the 7th string, it will make your picking a whole lot neater and accurate.

Ah ok might have to see what that sounds like in the neck position, i think ive just fallen in love with the S7420FM all over again. I have serious GAS for one of those with the blue flamed maple.....

Time to search Ebay i guess....

Dunno but i cant see myself needing those extra 2 frets when i have my good old ZR trem, especially now as Ibanez might be releasing it separately...

(S7420FM - Lo pro 7 edge trem) + ZR trem in black =

grr, i can get te action on my rg SUPER low, but the bar play is crap. but with decent action i get full pull. damnit! lol

I dont know i seemed to have grown up a lot when it comes to the bar play now, i used to be doing harmonic squeals at every available point during a live set with my 6 (drop C and OFR) but now i like to use it a lot more tastefully, like when Vai or Petrucci use the very slight wobbles during slow solo's etc.

nice friggin axe! That's a sick looking pic bro. You look like shredder John Lennon from that angle.

my C-7, not such a great pic, and a little clip in action where it looks purple, lol.

Hey Erock that clip is absolutely amazing, gotta love those riffs....and the sweeps were nice and clean. Congrats man for some reason a purple hellraiser seems to work...?

You have the exact guitar that i strived for when looking for a 7....only problem is that they're near impossible to get within the UK, and i really wasn't up for shipping from America.....

and your kid man, worth more than any gear

haha, yeah, we were blessed. He's going to have some pretty good gear if he wants to play too, that's for sure. He's taken a liking to the strat for some reason, I think he's going to be a blues man.

thanks man Damn though, I don't think you made out bad at all, I really miss not having a trem. I try not to abuse it so much at this point, but it's still really nice to have as an extra tool. I find myself reaching for it once in a while, so I think you made the right choice. Even though I love the guitar and playability, I'm actually considering other 7's now just for that trem.

Cool, a 7 string thread! I got my seven string in January, and it's been my main axe ever since. Anyone else think that 7 string necks just feel "right" in your hand? Like, the perfect size?

By the way, hmmm_de_hum, that's the best picture of a 7320 I've ever seen, that ZR looks mega sexy!

Speaking of Chris Broderick, i dont know if you guys have already seen this but.....(white stuff came out of my wee wee )

Just thinking, we could try and get this stickied as a general Q&A subforum to stop the EG forum from getting cluttered with these "what are the advantages of 7 strings?/What 7 string should i get?" threads that seem to be constantly cropping up lately....

Aww man yeah, that was on the seven string forum a while ago, gorgeous stuff. I really want to try his Bareknuckle configuration, I bet it sounds amazing. I'd use the bar more than him though, so a locking nut would be a must. Awesome finish though.

I think it looks quite classy without the locking nut on it, combined with the reverse headstock is nicely complimented. Considering Chris doesn't use the trem much apart from vibrato wobbles etc it works for him.

But yeah my 7 string neck feels so normal compared to anything else, i played an ibanez 6'er with the old wizard II neck and i actually felt like i would break it......lot easier to play shred stuff but it was slightly uncomfortable.

next guitar i'm building is gonna be a double neck- one seven, one six. may go triple, a fretless too. or four, and add a twelve string.

Yeah I know what you mean, it does have a pretty sophisticated look to it, while still looking like it could kick all kinds of ass.

Just wondering, does the Air Norton 7 sound anything like the 6 string version? Just cause I know the TZ7 sounds completely different from the TZ6. I really need a new neck pickup, I replaced the stock bridge pickup with a Blaze Custom, which is sounding pretty sweet!

Have no fear gentlemen, there will be a C-7 Hellraiser FR released next year.

I am abstaining from purchasing a 7 string monster until then.

I don't wanna wait.
