A few weeks ago, I decided to completely modify:

My Silvertone Paul Stanley sig...

To this:

And now, to this:

I still have a bit of work to do on it, however, and I need suggestions in a few aspects, so any help is appreciated.

I don't know if I should do a logo on the headstock, or leave it as the wood.

As for Pickups, I'm installing a Fernandes mock-humbucker in neck position, but I dunno what to install in bridge, something hard-rock/metal sounding, and clear.

I'm definitely Installing a Killswitch, the on-on one, and I'm installing an original Floyd Rose...

It looks neat. I really like the paintjob.. it's kind of like.. some kid chewed on candy and smeared it on your guitar.

It's really individualistic.
My gear:

MIJ Squier Stratocaster

Washburn WR150 Quilted Top

Oscar Schmidt Semi-hollow Delta King

Epiphone Hummingbird

Amps: Fender Eighty-Five

Pretty sweet mod, looks rather.......I don't how to describe it. I've always wanted to repaint my guitar.......but I'm never sure on whether the cost is a lot or how long I have to wait for the clear to dry. Maybe a Seymour Duncan of some kind for the bridge pick-up.
#5
Lol, actually it was a screwed up Swirl job, but I thought it turned out fantastic. My friends gave a lot of help in painting it I was thinking something along the lines of a Seymore Duncan too...

Atleast its different ;-D Sand the little neck joint bit before you screw it back on though.

nice paint job.
for pickups seymour duncan dimebucker?? Dimarzio Evo - used by steve vai , dragonforce etc. DiMarzio Super Distortion - does hard rock metal but also good for classic rock. Check out dimarzio.com and use their pickup chooser to help you
A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have moved on to rap music.
Put this in your signature if you are one of the 8% who stayed with the real music

Thanks for that GGBrocker

And madmk, I know to sand it down, but does it have to be like 100% perfect?

I have a quick question, and didn't wanna make a new thread.

Is it possible to install both a Fernandes Sustainer, (Single Coil in a Humbucker shape) and a Seymore Duncan Super distortion? Because that's the sound I would like...

Fernandes in Neck & SD in Bridge...
#14
That's pretty damn awesome. I looked at it for about a minute before I could pull my gaze away. First thought-it's like a fish tank, or underwater in the tropics.

Nice work.

pretty cool but im not sure about the floyd rose. you need to do alot of routing and measuring to get it right. anywho good job on the paint, but you should have covered the neck pocket because i guarantee the neck wont fit. try sandin it.

good luck

Yeah, you can do that.
I'm doing this to my LP atm actually.
You may need to route out some space to fit the circuit board in or if your fitting it into the control cavity, you'll need mini-pots.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

I think you have some mustard on your guitar.

Eating hot dogs while painting a guitar is never a good idea.

Gibson SG Special Faded
Ovation Celebrity Acoustic
Carvin V3M
Laney AOR 4x12 w/ Jensen MOD
Jet City JCA2112RC
80's era Arion Stereo Chorus > Ibanez DE-7

In 60 years, there will still be Opeth.
You know why?
Death ain't got **** on Mikael.

haha you should like, paint your name on the headstock or something. That'd be cool.
Veteran UGer. Suck it.

it looks like a jawbreaker exploded. all over your guitar. try heating one in the microwave to produce the same effect!

JUST KIDDING DONT ACTUALLY DO IT (inside melts, turns to candy lava, and explodes giving you 3rd degree burns)

You should continue the paintjob on the headstock, I have to say I really like it.
#32
Very nice.
+1 for the Super Distortion.
Great pickup.

The Floyd Rose might be a bit hard to install though...routing and stuff is a really hassle.
You could just get some locking nuts and like...a 'Stets Bar' or a Kahler that mounts flush to the guitar or something.
My knowledge on trems is minimal.

It's done!!!!

Has been for a while now, I installed 2 DiMarzio SD's, in Yellow and Blue...

I also painted the neck, fixed the next joint and fixed the intonation...

It plays like sex and looks like sex... Now all I need is a strap.

Pics up shortly, and sorry for the huge bump.

Body, 2 pickups, whatnot...

As you can see, I didn't get the floyd in, apparently there wasn't enough space...

Headstock - painted with a sponge, and used a toothbrush to splatter the lighter paints on top.

Overview, plain black strap...

Whadda ya'll think?

Very nice!
Looks really good.
What kind of paint did you use, and what did you use to finish it?

I used oil paints - A metallic blue, as the main colour, then a green, pink and yellow.

They were... cant remember the brand for my life, but I'll get back to you.

To be honest, it's a botched swirl job, but I loved the way it turned out so I kept it.

To finish it I used a spray on Plasti-Kote thing, "Clear Super"

Applied a few thin layers, then assembled it.

So I, with a broomstick(Just in case) walk right where they can see me and I said:

"You kids ever taken a broom up the ass?"

The look on their face was priceless, and they ran, and I mean ran like a bat out of hell.
