Im recording with my band over a Line6 toneport and wanted to know if using a regular computer mic would work or if it would just sound to ****ty to even think about.

ok well im broke and cant aford drum mics what should i do?

Shell out the money for preamps, mics, and stands or settle for a drum machine.

A computer mic will sound like crap.............

Keep an eye on eBay for a Radio shack PZM plate microphone
they are fairly good for general use percussion from what I've been told at another board and I've seen them go for real cheap on eBay.

they are old though so they are hard to find.
