Well there's an SG thread so perhaps there should be a thread for Les Paul owners as well. Les Pauls are amazing guitars and if SG's can be discussed in their own thread why not celebrate another great guitar.

Edit: I tried to do a search but it doesn't seem to work, so if there is another Les Paul thread somewhere, I can delete this.

Anyways back to the thread, discuss your Les Paul guitars, post pics etc.

Also doesn't have to be Gibson could be Epiphone or Agile or any other similar/obvious copy of Les Pauls.

Edit: Link to the Les Paul group.

Haha, SGs are top heavy, LPs aren't!!!! LPs FTW!!!! plus, you can press the string to the pickup on an LP and simulate a 25th fret.

The only LP I own is an Epiphone Custom Silverburst (limited edition). It's nice, closest thing you can get to a Gibson from Epiphone really, but it's still a bit meh.

I'm still trying to find a Gibson 2007 Silverburst for sale...

Silverburst is nice. ^

I have an Epi. Standard Plus (Transparent amber). May not be a Gibson but I love it, change of pickups later on and I don't see any other need for a different guitar.

I got an Agile 2000 yesterday. I used to be a HUGE fan of Strats but when I plugged my Agile in, I couldn't get enough of that deep yet bright bluesy tone . I have a really bad amp (15w BC Rich amp that came with my first guitar) and the tone and sustain is still mind blowing. I haven't even tried playing any heavy songs yet, I've been playing all clean channel songs.

Les Pauls are now my favorite guitars.

Pics (yeah i know, my room is messy):

the roller bridge is a type of Tune-O-Matic bridge...and my bridge bothers me...its the stock epi bridge and the saddles make my strings die...

nah, not if your just replacing the TOM with a roller, if you got rid of the Stopbar for a strat style (trem or non-trem) you would lose alot of sustain though.

meh, they are not the best, and you can tell a difference when you play on a better amp, but the amp has been good to me, so I can't complain.

I'm unfortunately not much of a Les Paul guy. I used to have an Epi LP which played quite nice, shame about the bad fretboard edging though, the rosewood was really roughly cut and after a while the pickups, bridge and pickup switch started to rattle, so I sold it so I could afford a Strat. I'd take an ES335 over the Paul anyday, I love that Semi tone.

Here's my old Epi:

There's only been, what, two or three REAL Les Pauls. Gibson is the only company that makes the rreal thing. The rest is just copies.

Discuss.

I have a les paul studio. The pickups arent bad but i cant stand the thing. Its cost me literally hundreds of pounds repairing gibsons shoddy workmanship. Metal fatigue, fault pickup changer, frets popping, dodgy pickup wiring. At the end of the day, its sounds alrite, and plays alright but not good enough for what ive payed. I can wait to get rid of the damm thing and get me a nice prs or ibanez.
