a new amp. as you can read in my sig i already got a cube 60 but im looking for something more powerful because i only really used it for home practises and jammin n stuff, but have now got into a serious band and obviously will be playing in halls n small venues n stuff. So i feel 60 watts isnt good enough. I want an amp which will give me sh!t loads of distortion n gain. but also having a real nice clean tone too. also if its possible one that has lots of effects like reverb/phaser/chorus/tremelo/flanger etc......

I'd say that my price range goes up to about £600/700..........

......so.........

........any suggestions?

oh also we mainly play metal music .. but also another genre of music that sounds like QOTSA...

Stay away from amps with onboard effects. If you can even find any, that is. Once you start getting good amps, you need to get the effects in stompbox form. With a budget like that, you can get a really nice tube amp, maybe mesa or peavey for lots of gain?

ps. How do you like the Airline? I might get one this week...

^+1, I think #2 meant to say "Stay away from onboard effects", since they usually aren't as good as single effects. Even the XXX had built in effects at one point.

TS, you could check out a Laney GH series for some high gain, even the H&K Switchblade, I think it's withing your budget.
