So UG, what are some songs that mess with you on the inside? Maybe make you sad, happy, pissed off, etc..

For me the song Hurt by Johhny Cash really gives me a sad feeling... its hard to explain but when I heard it it hit me like a train.

Satan isn't inside a guitar pick. He's in here. In our hearts. He's what makes us not want to go to work, or excercise or tell the truth. He's that little voice in your mind that says "Fuck you" to the people you hate.

For me, the song "Missing Person" by J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton makes me so relaxed. That whole album does, actually.

Nirvana's live cover of Where Did You Sleep Last Night. I've listened to that song before bed got a terribly sad feeling, just knowing that that voice would be dead in several months.

"eleanor rigby" by the beatles is tough to listen to, i guess it's just one of those really depressing songs.

i get chills whenever i hear the recording of bob marley playing "redemption song." there are a bunch of other songs where the lyrics seem to hit the mark just right and i kind of recognize myself, which is always weird.

Most Leonard Cohen songs make me sad. Last Year's Man really does. Daniel Johnston songs do a lot of the time too. Hey Jude by The Beatles can make me very depressed. Leo Kottke songs ususally make me happy. Most music I listen to makes me feel calm. Black Flag and The Circle Jerks really makes me pissed off.

"Space Dye Vest" by Dream Theater really depresses me, but it's so beautiful to listen to. Also, "In The Fade" by Queens Of The Stone Age really makes me sad, although I don't know why. I have actually cried to that song for no reason whatsoever. What you guys / gals think?

'Helpless' by Crosby, Still, Nash and Young.
The Deftones' cover of 'Simple Man' is emotional too, cos of the way Chino sings it.
Oh and 'Isolation Years' by Opeth.

Street Spirit by Radiohead always makes me feel a kind of vague hopelessness. It ranges in intensity depending on how I feel.
