I recently sold my amplifier and bought a POD xt instead.

The thing is that the only way for me to play it without headphones is to run it through my bass amp.

I haven't quite got it to work flawlessly yet so I wonder if anybody else is using this kind of setup.

The sound I get is very fat (I run a GK head thru a 1x15 cab) and I would like to thin it out. I play a Telecaster and like that really thin single-coil sound.

Any suggestions?

... that doesn't sound right... why would you run a FX unit through a headphone jack?

anyway, just play with your eq.

No, thats not what I meant.
When I play it with headphones I play without the amp entirely.

When I do use the amp I connect it straight to the main input.

If I were you, go out and buy a cheap combo amp with limited options.....No Fx, No Amp Modeling. Bass amps will not give you the sound you are looking for. I just run my XTLive to studio reference monitors instead of an actual amp, but I have run it to a 15w Marshall MG and it sounded pretty good. It unusable with my Vox because of onboard amp models and effects.

he isnt playing it through the headphone jack.

well if he does, he didnt actually say he does lol. if you want a single coil sound you need single coils. or you could get pickups wired for coil splitting or coil tapping. but nothign really compares to getting actual single coils.

the tele you have has humbuckers right?

^Oooh ok. haha confused me there lol.

Hmm just play with your eq on the pod then, if that doesn't work then just play through your amp and plug your headphones into that.
