I have an old squier guitar that i havent had fixed it ages cause i dont play it anymore cause its crap. But i want it fixed cause it bugging me.

The bridge has kind of been bent up, when you tune the guitar the strings pull the bridge up and it comes out of tune.

Ive been told to adjust the springs in the back and i have, but it hasnt helped.

Ive been told to adjust the springs on the bridge but that hasnt helped either.

I think the problem started when i added a different gauge of strings and tuneing it put to much strain on the bridge.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Do i just need a new bridge for it?

I had similiar problem with my squier jagmaster when I changed bigger gauge strings on it. And getting an extra spring for the back fixed it... They're cheap and you can get one from any guitar store.

im assuming that cos u dont play ur squire u have a better guitar, which is virtually any guitar, apart from "shine guitars" (snobbish haha). Dont fix the squire, put it to better use such as:-

1.firewood
2.an tool to smash james blunt CDs
3. melt the strings down for raw material
4.hanging on the front of ur door to keep away the ghost of jimi hendrix (who would be far too offended by a squire)

ok well add springs to the back cavity. that's about $2. aND will hold the bridge down.

if someone tells u to burn a guitar, they are clueless and should be ignored.

I have a Johnson strat and I some day would love to gut it and replace everything in and on it besides the body just because its what I learned for soo long on. It would be nice to play it here and there still. Maybe thats why he waned to keep it.

Hi i have a spare set of Floyd rose guitar bridge springs which are a bit beefier than the usual if you intrested.

New 4 pounds + delivery

I also have some new bridges if you fancy going down that route but i wont want to spalsh out to much cash on a squire unless its an old japan built one.

well, somehow when i had bigger gauge strings, my trem also became levitated..but i managed to keep it in tune relatively well and i used it like a floating trem going up and down in pitch..that was awsome.

Exactly. There is a difference between making the choice to burn your won guitar and telling someone to burn their guitar. LOL, toshay.
