It is a tough call. Even though I love Ibanez, and the Saber series. I'd say save for carvin.

Not that I know of, but I'm not really up on all of the PRS's, for the money Carvin rules, you just can't play them first, which as any musican knows is a tough decision to make, but if you deceide on the Carvin I'd go for the Tung Oil on the neck. I just love an unfinished neck.

I think he's meaning that Carvins are cheaper becaulse you get them directly from the factory and cut the middle man out, saving you a lot of cash.

Dude I had a PRS Custom 24 with Dimarzios. My carvin sounds and plays better than it ever did. It's also new over 1000 less than the PRS.

Forget PRS man. Start reading the carvin forums. You will find a few threads with direct comparison between the dude's carvin and 2k+ guitars and the carvin always sounds much better.

Since it's direct from factory it's so much cheaper because it doesn't get sold retail.
#18
dude if youre gonna get a ibanez saber then be sure to try it out. The saber series has declined in quality since it went to a korean factory. There are some really good korean S's out there but sometimes there are some horribly messed up ones. so be careful with buying an S

why don't more people get carvins?

Because it takes 6 weeks to make and a lot of people want instant gratification for their money. That's why they will never be as big as gibson or fender. Most people just want to walk out with a guitar.

Also carvins may be more popular than you think. Steve Vai uses Carvin amps and Allan Holdsworth has his own signature model.

ohhhh, yea (wow I didnt know Steve vai)
never mind.................. its $1215.49

How about get the S470, but use the extra money you could have saved up for to upgrade the pickups?
Really, all the S series need is new pickups.

If you want you can also spend them on pedals
#23
if you like the neck of the 470, id say get that one and switch out the pups
