Hey guys i was at guitar center today and i saw this amp. It had great distortion and lead. Great effects and everything. The clean was also pretty decent. I tried out different tubes but In my opinion i liked this better. Whats your thoughts on this amp?

isn't that the crate one? i personally am through with crate solid states. in the store they sound alright, but once you take them home and try them out for a while you grow to hate 'em.

what other ones did you try? keep looking. but if you still come back to that one, more power to ya.

Well i tried a lot of Peavy tubes that they recommended but it just didn't have that extra metal punch to it. I want to kinda stay away from putting overdrive pedals and distortion pedals through my amp and have it all through one thing. Yes it is a Crate.

which peavey amps did you try? i don't find crate ss amps have any punch to them really. just one sound distorted and adjustable by volume.

try out some more tube amps, and make sure to turn them up loud because that's where the magic is in tube amps. in solid states, it'll remain roughly the same tone the louder it goes, but then once the signal clips, it'll turn to mush. when tube amps clip, it's heavenly.

Alright my father knows someone that can get me a RM50B Randall for about 600$ is that a good amp i hear good things about those. I play a lot of Metal but sometimes i go to a clean/rockish sound.

Edit: It's a new unused one too. It uses modules.

I haven't tried it but I'm worried because of Randall's Site the sound of the setup on the site is kinda muffled. The modules in it are Modern and Clean so well guess I'll just wait and see. Also i don't see many places selling Randalls why is that?

randall's a pretty big company, where have you been looking?
musician's friend has it.

but reading up on it there has me a bit confused. ah nevermind. i'm assuming it comes with 2 different sets of preamps that you can swap. but there's 18 to choose from by purchasing.

interesting...

I've looked on the Randall site earlier today, and by the way they detailed the amp.

I think it's a pretty good buy, well I'm not sure but I'd say it's good.
