I've decided I'm going to invest in a new guitar, I really want the Gibson Es-335 semi acoustic guitar, but with it being out of my price range, I'll have to settle for something less expensive!

So I am interested in anyones opinion on the Tanglewood Th502 guitar which is the same shape as the Gibson Es-335 but obviously no match, but I would still like to know if it is worth buying or would it be better to invest in the Epiphone version of the Es-335 or the Epiphone Casino. I would also like to know if the Fender'69 thinline and 72' thinlines are also anygood, although i do prefer Es-335 shape guitars, and am looking for something similar to this style.

Cheers all

Try finding a used Ibanez, or maybe a Hagström from the 70's.

I think stone is either 7 or 14 lbs

Edit I'm gonna go with 14 because it's rather unlikely you're 56 pounds

I think Epiphones are closest to Gibsons.

Elitist epis do, but those would most likely be out of your range, but you could most likely buy a cheap Epi ES-335 used and put gibson 57s in the guitar to achieve a nice indy rock sound

My friend's got the TH503. It plays really nice, especially with 11s, for the price it's awesome, it played only a slight amount worse than my Epi Les Paul. Only niggles were that the flame maple top was pretty ugly and the pickups muddy.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.
