Decided to do this as my first customization as I'm working up to building a LP by next year.

On my agenda:

Sand off paint [x]
Sand down to smooth [ ]
Paint with black and purple "swirl" technique [ ]
Lots'a clearcoat [ ]
Buffing [ ]
Find/buy a black HSH pickguard [ ]
Buy/install new pickups [ ]
Buy/install a new bridge (maybe) [ ]
New tuning heads [ ]

Extras (Thinking of these):

Sand off headstock logo and order custom logo.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it.

I'm really looking forward to it too, my friend has a Squier bass and we might do the customization together and use the same colors but different paint styles.

I was going to do exactly the same thing as you but I had my squier 51' and my friend had his Rogue bass but for some reason the swirl technique turned out like garbage. So we went to plan B and went crazy with flourescent paint!
