I have a fender frontman 15 w amp and am finidng the tone quite flat.

Can anyone suggest any settings to make the tone sound more 'active'

raising the tone and/or volume on your guitar might help,
also you could try turning the treble up on the amp,
i think lots of treble sounds great, but it's all subjective so whatever sounds good to you

I have the bigger version, and it sounds pretty flat unless you are using a mahogony body guitar to add depth, but it still sucks IMO. I'd try to find your most bearable setting, then save up for a better amp if I was you. That's what I'm doing atleast.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.
