i just stumbled upon this:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-MH500-Metalhead-Guitar-Amp?sku=480869

Has anyone here personally played this head and if so what it good, bad or what?

im sorry but i tend to think most reviews on musiciansfriend are fake or not realistic.

I've never played or listened to one, but all comments I've heard about it hear on UG have been negative. Besides, who would seriously spends $900 on a solid state amp??! Tube snobs FTW.

Very old......

The only "metal" fender amp worth looking at is the Supersonic or the EVH head, despite the fact that is about $500 to expensive.

Screw those MF reviews, there is no way in hell that the MH is better than a matchless

dude, the fender metalhead sucks ass... At NAMM 2007 Yngwie was playing them and they sounded absolutely horrible... 400 watts? Who gives a ****, it still sounds like ass.

FIVE star reviews? for that 12 year old poser gimmick?

I don't know if I can trust those reviews anymore!
I usually test things first anyways....

Fender + Metal = Iron Maiden

they use fender guitars with a hsh or hss pick up config and a dimarzio super distortion. (Go figure) They also use a Marshall JMP 1 Preamp and some Marshall power amp hooked up to a marshall 1960a.

Well clap clap

Hats off to you sir, I did not know that.

I was just saying Fender + Metal = good ole Dave from Maiden. The post was OT to the amp in question.

I use Harmony Central anyways.
Some of the reviews are quite obvious, and most are insightful. But I always test instore first. I would never buy anything online based purely on a review
