yeah people say the low end BC Riches are rubbishsuch as the Bronze Series but the high end ones like the customs are good.

Ive also been lookin at some Deans and quite like the ML. Does Dean do customs?

the best way of getting a custom is to phone up the uk branch of the manufacturer

so for bc rich

go on the website and find it

same with dean

id reccoment a dean

the old custom bc richs were good but since the were taken over by the new owners its gone downhill

nice set up btw

I've never seen a custom shop Dean, other than an artists signature series.
custom shops you could look into - Jackson, ESP, and Ran.

Bernie Rico Jr. makes BC Rich like custom guitars. Yes, they're related, but not business wise.

Ran guitars will make any style for you. And they're not unreasonably priced either. Check out their website to see a mighty impressive take on the Dean ML, for instance.

neil moser is probably your best bet.

and ran are WAY overpriced.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

Care to elaborate?

from what i hear, most of them come in at $2-4000, and i could build you the same one for around $600.

Yeah. people, like Lemoninfluence, are hypocrites and should have all their opinions invalidated from here on out.

I got a quote from them at around £1300 (I was just pricing in case i wanted one some day ) Which is great, hell a dean chinese made razorback is £995 and an Ibanez JEM is £1500 and I got a quote on somethign was pretty much an Ibanez Jem with a Schaller trem and slightly different pickups.

And sure it costs less to make but they need the labour fees and stuff.

I say go with Ran or a smal company like Feline Guitars I highly considered them once.

Yeah, that's around the price I got, and I'd gone all-out with the one I got a quote for. Getting those specs from a name-brand off the rack would cost you your first born, your mother and your soul...

Do any Company do custom guitars, if you rang them?

such as Fender?

Also would they give a quote,
Has anyone here done that, from whatever 'Big Name' guitar brand? if so it would be great to here your experiences
cheers

Try Moon Guitars, he is Glasgow based i think. I know someone who had an explorer made by him and wwas very impressed. It means you could go in and check on progress too.

not really. ibanez has the LACS (LA custom shop) but you'll pay more than an arm and a leg. fender doesn't do it, don't think jackson does. most of them don't really have a reason to do that kind of thing.

doya kno a rough price range?
What do ya mean by super expensive, are we talking 2k-4 (GBP) or what?

I'm talking up to 10k that's about how much their custom shop stuff is. you'd be better off building your own with super special care.
