so i have a question. i was talkin to one of my buddies and he was talking about adjusting the pole pieces on his guitar to get a tone that he wanted. what does it do and how would i get my guitar back to normal if i screwed it up? thanks. oh by the way i might be trying this on a PRS SE Custom.

It moves the pole pieces. If you move them, or the entire pickup, closer to the strings, the output gets a little louder and your tone gets a little muddier. Your sustain will also take a little hit.

It's pretty easy to do, imho, but it could get screwed up pretty easily also.

Also, you might wanna put that little "gear" section into your signature, under the User CP link up in the top of the page.

if youre talking about the screws on the pickups themselves, i wouldnt adjust those, its not worth it. if youre talking about the height of the pickups, dont adjust those, its pretty pointless again.
