I'm switching from bass to guitar (well actually just trying to get my guitar skills up to my bass skills) and was wondering if anyone can recommend books on how chords are formed. I want the book to explain everything, so maybe an encyclopedia but one that explains everything about chords and its not just a chart.

Also if anyone has any other good music theory books that would be appreciated.

I disagree Slipknot is more technical than Necrophagist and more brutal than Suffocation, that's why I do hardcore dances to it with my 14 year old friends.

"MI: Harmony and Theory," "7,488 Chords," "Chop Shop for Guitar," and "Guitar Today."
I bet you five bucks that I play guitar.
