I recently bought a 89 peavey tracer at pawn shop for 115$... rember this is US made, US kahler the whole deal.. anyways when i bought it the pickup selector was noisy and popped alot and the bridge pickup didnt work very well, i tried fixing this but it still sounds "squawky". Well i brought it in to guitar lessons last night and it didnt work AT ALL! well i checked all the wiring and it checks out fine, still no sound. could it be a bad volume pot or pickup selector? help please!
Yeah it could be. I had a similar problem a while ago with an old bass, so I bought new pots and input jack and changed all the pots and rewired all the wires. Worked like a charm.
okay... i took the two coils that are soldered together and stuck them to the tone pot and WHALA i can hear myself playing! but the selector switch doesnt work and its stuck on the bridge pickup so possibly the selector switch?? if anyone has any ideas let me know PLEASE!
