Hi im thinking of buying a boost pedal but i dont want to spend a lot of money but it needs to be robust (not made of plastic) about 40 pounds is my max. My m8 uses a "digitech Bad Monkey" which sounds very good but i dont want to copy him and use the same pedal so i was wondering for any alternatives.

thanks in advance

Hodds, just be a man and get the Bad Monkey. Who cares if you're copying him? If it sounds good to you, get it.

DOD overdrive preamp 250, boss sd-1 or a BBE boosta grande would be my suggestions. The BBE is more expensive but it won't mess with your tone that you already get.

Well, guys, hate to spoil the party here, but you failed to mention that the BBE Boosta Grande is more than double what the guy wants to pay.

The LPB-1 would be a decent idea TS.

In that case you don't want a booster you wnat an overdrive or a distortion, boosts really are designed to be used with valve amps

Well, that's why I said both of them were a good idea.

And yeah, a boost is better withy a valve amp...Now if you used an OD pedal, like a TS-808, then you'd get some decent dirty tones...
