Ever since I was a wee noob, I've always tremolo picked by tightening the muscles in my arm till it shakes slightly. With time and conditioning it has gotten to the point where it sounds even, the speed is controllable, and it doesn't make me tired anymore. My question is this, is this a bad habit?
I do that sometimes too, Unless it is restricting you don't worry about it.
Hey if it works for you then go with it, but I was always taught to relax and let my wrist do all the work.
i used to do that until i started getting pains from it, and my arm would tighten up to the point where if i kept on doing it it would go stiff. so it wasn't good for me.
i cant speed pick well. . . I need to get a decent technique...
use your wrist movement for faster tremolo, and finger movement for your slow tremolo, kind of like writing
