Ok, I wasn't going to say this because it may effect people's judgements but it helps explain the lyrics a lot, so, this song is about my dad, who recently got leukemia. I've never really spoken to anyone about it so a few months later, I've written a song about it.

Take him away.
Take him through the mud.
Kicking and screaming,
Without uttering
A word. Show him your work,
Show him with minds on
Something else.
Just keep this quiet.

I take after him.
Boiling all my thoughts,
Stew while they’re hot.
No one to trust
With such a great burden.
A great burden,
A great burden,
A great burden.

Pretend nothings happened
Or we’ll be late for work.
Light up a cigarette,
Stub it out as we go
Down south. Drive around
With your hair up high
Take that business call
And forget you were ever told.
That awful news,
That day I ran
From a great burden.

The song has a slow, folky feel to it, if that helps you put it into context.

Yeah you're right, looking over it, I don't like the repetition of "a great burden" I'll go over it later.

Thanks for the positive crit.
