What exactly is meant by CAGED system? Does it mean individual C-A-G-E-D chords....so once some one knows these chords u can transpose and get any other chord? Or is there another meaning to this?

The CAGED system is a way of learning where all the different chord shapes come into play, so you can play rhythm and lead easier. You learn each chord with a different shape - so you can play the E major chord in 5 different ways before changing octaves, and the same with every other chord.

I think that's right...
