Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

SE series are really good. Ive got a Santana SE for £350, but not sure about Austrailia though.

look into some schecters too. I have a C1+ and it gives me good clean and distorted tones
I don't know how U.S. dollars compare to Australian though so it might cost too much.
Your best bet though is to go to the guitar store and play different guitars and see which one suits you the best.

i got a hellraiser fr meself. love it. just need a hardtail for changing tunings since i keep my hellraiser in e all the time.

i just want to hear some brand names that arent usually in shops in australia that are good.

i'll check up the prs se and see what their like.

thanks guys

schecters are cheap at billy hydes.
hook your self up one.
or an ibanez rg or s.

He wants a hardtail, S series aren't hart tail, maybe you mean SZ.

Deffinately check out the C-1s, if you have enough to buy a C-1 Classic, that's the best bet you'll get, but I don't think that's in your price range.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

lol allans are a rip off. yeh schecters are very good for value. im leaning towards an epiphone les paul standard or standard plus now, even though they arent much in the looks department, very versatile. if i get a schecter it'll be a c-1 plus or classic, if i get enough money...

i'll hav a look at those sz ibanezes too

Check out the Washburn X50PRO. Very good hardtail guitar and versatile sounds.
