Go here: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 to the right forum.

Edit: To answer your question anyways: I learned to read music by one of those beginner Hal Leonard books. Just one string at a time with easy "riffs" and "songs" to play along the way. Everyone learns differently though so if i were you i would go to a guitar shop and check out the books.

UG has some ok lessons. OR go to the Musicians Talk forum and ask there. (At least I think that, thats where this should go.)
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
