I'm trying to open an owner's manual on DIRECTV.com so I can program my remote to my DVD player, but I don't know what program on my computer will open the file.

I have Windows 98 btw.

i recommend Foxit Reader
its better than adobe acrobat reader and is open source

+10000000000, Adobe Acrobat Reader takes forever to load and is a memory hog. Plus the installation folder is like 50MB for a trial version (?!). It basically sucks. Get Foxit Reader.

Adobe was indeed not free.....

but I just downloaded something called DeskPDF, made to open PDF files.

Thanks guys.

No, they're different. Acrobat Reader can only OPEN files. Acrobat can read files, create files, and do other interesting things.

Or Mac has a built in viewer called Preview. Yep, it opens EVERYTHING. Imagine that, Mac being easier to use.
