take your bass up to a local music shop and play around with different amps. we can't possibly tell you what you'd want out of a bass amp - what "heavy" and "low" is to you may mean something different to someone else.

What's your budget? A Fender Rumble 100 1x15 would get you that low, bassy sound but it's $330 so it may be out of your price range.

EDIT: Here's some other options:

As always, try before you buy.

I think white people are better than black people.
While this statement is kinda racist and straightforward, it does have many FACTS to back it up lolz.

Today I went down to rehersal and the usual Trace Elliot had gone.

But I was rather impressed with the amp that I did get, it was a Peavey TNT 115. They sound really solid and a 15" woofer is always nice to have pumping the air out behind you.

The graphic EQ was good and I boosted the mids a bit and got a killer punchy sound, it cut through really well

I think they should be less than $500 and definatly look into the used market! You can find some right bargins.

Gear:
Fender Standard Jazz Bass
Artec Matrix Pedal Tuner
BBE Optostomp
Boss GEB 7
EHX NYC Big Muff
Ashdown MAG C410T-300
Torque T100BX
GAS-ing for:
Boss SYB5
Behringer Intelligate IG9

have one, its very nice and reliable. Also it works very well as a cab (which i'm doing till i can afford my 4x10) if you should buy a head.
