What are the best metal-type pickusp fro a Maple body and neck guitar (Carvin CM-130) and an Alder body, maple neck guitar (Carvin DC-200)

I have an emg 81 set in the dc200 and it doesn't sound that great. (not mahogany) just wanted to test it out. I was initially planning on taking them out and putting them in the cm-130 but figured that'll probably sound just as bad.

edit = Sorry the amps in my sig, marshall jcm2000, but i use the pod xtl to patch through.

I play metal about 95% of the time.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

what type of tone are you after? what's your amp?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

how many pickups do you need?

a set for a 130 and a 200??

well...you have many other guitars that give you certain sounds...

maybe go for a clean on one?? pafs or something...

I think it's all preference, and hard to suggest with very little information...

How about getting a sc to put in one, with a humbucker cover over top or something...

Just throwing it out there...

You can get those from Duncan's Custom Shop. It would work better, as humbucker covers usually aren't F-spaced.
