ok so my old nut broke....

i took my guitar to guitar center the guy gave me one he said was the right size......

it looks like it will fit...but i cant get it in.....

should just force it in? cuz im afraid of scatching my guitar or something

or is it not the right size should they just go in perfectly

You could file down one or both of the sides...

Also if theres glue left inside the "cavity" you should try to remove that and then it might fit better...

Yeah look for left over residue or debri where the nut was...you may have to exchange the nut for another one if its overly big for that particular guitar.

yea its a fender strat....i just made sure i got all the glue and stuff out....it still wont go ....ill try filing it down a little bit

just file it til it fits...

and you may have to file some off the bottom if you like low action...

If you decide to just do it real slow...because if you mess up you cant add to it...
