I was thinking of replacing the Ibanez Infinity pickups in my S470
probably with a DiMarzio Evo' set
the pickup config' is HSH
any other pickups i should look into?

(I play a lot of classic type metal, standard tuned e.g. Megadeth, Iron Maiden)

^ See i'm not to sure myself as i've not tried a tonezone , it's a very popular pickup in Ibanez's and i'm thinking about putting one in my self depending on some others opinions

^ Some people say the PAF Joe is superior to the PAF Pro - it's Satch's modded version of it
Check out the site and if you can try find a guitar with it?

Dunno about the Tone Zone in mahogany, might get a bit out of hand. It's probably a bit too middly and shreddy for classic metal. The Norton's a better bet, possibly the Breed but your tone would be seriously fat and lower-mid heavy in mahogany...be good for the neck though.
Actually called Mark!

for standard tuning and for that kind of sound id definitely say go with Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and Paf Pro in the neck

Hrm would the Tone Zone be suitable for metal in the bridge pup in a Basswood guitar? I'm leaning moore towards the lead parts in 80's thrash and other shreedy more modern tones [such as Petrucci] or is it not suitable?

And i'm still undecided what i should be matching it with - the Airnorton/paf pro/paf joe - i want good clean tones but also something can can give thick clear sounds when distorted/boosted for soloing etc
